about us – Naas Wild Food Festival

about us

The Naas Wild Food Festival is run by Naas Festivals CLG. A not for profit company run on a
voluntary basis.

Our Mission

Our sole aim is to give the local community great days out.

Our Story

This festival focuses on bringing people together through food.
Thanks to the support of Naas Tidy Towns, the local councillors and KCC it all started off in 2010.
It kicked off as a Saturday afternoon community party in Well Lane.
It has now grown to a 10 day festival.
We wanted to have a unique food festival to differentiate ourselves. To have a Food Festival unlike
any others in Ireland. In 2007, while working on an orchard on the south island of New Zealand, our
chairperson came across the Hokitika Wild Food Festival. While there he ate a mountain oyster
(sheeps testicle) washed down by a craft beer. Ureka!
So for now we focus on:
• Rare and Unusual foods
• Dishes from the locality or distant lands!
• Quality and Delicious Foods but with a Twist.
• Wild = Spicy, Artisan, Foraged, Local, Ethnic, Uncommon
